On the morning of Sunday, May 19, DePaul guard Brittany Hrynko will be one 33 players waiting with anticipation to hear, or not hear, her name called as a member of the 2013 USA Basketball Women's World University Games Team. Over the past three days, some of the best collegiate athletes in the coutnry have been battling it out at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Of those 33 players, just 12 will represent the USA in the 2013 World University Games that will be played July 8-15 in Kazan, Russia. "It would just be a dream come true," said Hrynko of playing for USA Basketball. " It is something I've always wanted to do. I was just talking to my uncle about how getting invited was really exciting. It's a great experience to even compete to play for my country." |
