Vicki Baugh
On beating Lithuania:
Tonight we played a fast-paced game, which is our strongest style. But getting outrebounded definitely wasn't good. We need to have four players on the boards at all times, and I think that's where they had the advantage tonight. We are definitely ready to face some tougher competition in the second round.
On having a day off:
As far as getting some rest, that's good, but there is always something we can work on. And I'm sure we will have a solid practice tomorrow.
On her role with the team:
My role on this team is definitely to rebound. I feel like I'm a more athletic post player, and I think the fact that I can run the floor with the guards is one of my strongest points.
Angie Bjorklund
On advancing to the second round:
Coach has broken this tournament down into the concept of three wins in a row, three times. That would get us the gold medal. So now that we have accomplished the first three wins, there is a little bit of celebration before we set out to win the next three.
On her role with the team:
I think every person on this team has found a definite role. We all need to do our part defensively, that's for everybody. For my role, personally, I'm a shooter, so I need to hit my shots, and, as a guard, I need to take care of the ball.
On having a day off:
All I have to say about our day of rest is, hallelujah!
Allyssa DeHaan
On her role with the team and the win over Lithuania:
My role on this team is to control the glass and to deny anything in the paint. That's what I tried to do tonight and every night. Obviously we didn't make the cut tonight because we got outrebounded in the first half, so that's something we need to take better care of.
I think we've all figured out our roles after preliminary play, and we are starting to play much better together as a team. I always have lot of improving to do as a player, but I'm having a lot of fun.
On having a day off:
We're excited to have a day off, but it's still important for us to get on the practice floor tomorrow and get some more reps in. I think the bonding aspect of a day of together is important as well, and this team gets along very well.
Jantel Lavender
On advancing to the second round:
We've had goals for each game, and we never really looked ahead to the next opponent. Our focus is one strength of this team.
On the growth of the team:
We've played excellent defense I think. We've really grown defensively and also we know each other so much better now. I think we are ready to face some tougher competition.
Jasmine Thomas
On her 14 points against Lithuania:
I knew that in general I needed to focus more on scoring because I don't want any defense to be able to slack off on me because they think I'm not a threat. I just tried to step on my scoring and tried to play good defense, too, which helps my offense a lot as well.
On having a day off:
I think the day of rest is important because we don't want to lose our legs, but physically I think we all feel pretty good. But since wee have some tough games ahead of us, I think it's good.
