    Lexie Brown Sparkles Off the Court and On
    Alexis ‘Lexie’ Brown, who earned 2012 Gwinnett County (Ga.) Player of the Year honors following her junior season, hit a triple-double in the state quarterfinals to send her team, North Gwinnett High School, to the state semifinals for the first time since 1963.  Brown averaged 19.0 ppg. overall in 2011-12 after scoring at a clip of 18.5 ppg. as a sophomore in her first season at North Gwinnett.     U18s Open Training Camp
    Barely a week after trials concluded, both the USA U17 and U18 Women's National Teams took the court for the first time at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resorts in Orlando, Fla., to begin step two of their respecitve quests for a gold medal at the FIBA U17 World Championship and the FIBA Americas U18 Championship.     Basketball A Family Affair For Imani Stafford


    Imani Stafford is no stranger to USA Basketball. She was a member of the 2010 USA U17 World Championship Team that won gold in France and was named to the 2011 USA U19 World Championship Team, but was forced to withdraw from the team after suffering an injury. In addition to her personal experience, her mother, Pamela McGee, won a gold medal at the 1984 Olympics and her aunt, Trisha Stafford, played for USA Basketball at the 1990 U.S. Olympic Sports Festival and the 1993 World University Games. Her brother, JaVale McGee, is also a basketball standout as a center for the Denver Nuggets. More...
    Familiar Faces, Several New Ones Open 2012 USA Women’s U18 Trials
    Twenty-five athletes participated in the first session of 2012 USA Basketball Women’s National Team Trials as they work to determine the 12-player USA roster for the 2012 FIBA Americas Championship played Aug. 15-19 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. While there are some familiar faces, including 2011 USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year Breanna Stewart, the majority of those in attendance have no prior experience with USA Basketball.
