Ceal Barry
USA head coach

On tonight's game:
They hit big threes in the third and fourth quarter. We weren't aggressive enough on getting out of double screens, and I thought that was a big difference; it was a momentum swinger. I don't know how many threes they had in the second half, but it's hard to make up the difference when you are scoring two points and giving up threes.

Do you think the USA got too comfortable after its first quarter lead?
I think we did get a little too comfortable after we built that first quarter lead. We jumped out, and we played great defense. The group coming in off the bench wasn't able to sustain that intensity, and that hurt us a little bit.

Are there some positives you can take from this game?
I think we played very, very hard, and it was an extremely physical game. All throughout, I thought we really fought hard.

Do you think it will be tough for this team to recover before it faces Puerto Rico tomorrow?
We will be ready to go by tomorrow. There are lots of things we can improve on, and I expect that this team will.

On tonight's game:
I think we started out really strong, and then we let their pressure get the best of us. We turned the ball over, we weren't playing our game and we just kind of gave it away to them in the second quarter. We fought hard in the third and fourth quarters, but we ran out of time.

Are there some positives you can take from this game?
We definitely need to learn to respond to pressure. We committed a lot of turnovers and pretty much just handed the ball to them. We need to keep our composure and play our game, play like we want to win and not like we are behind.

Do you think this team will be ready to face Puerto Rico tomorrow?
We just need to learn from what we did wrong, and then move on and forget about this game. We can't hang our heads. We need to be thinking about Puerto Rico.

Do you think the USA got too comfortable after its first quarter lead?
I think we settled a little bit. We probably thought we were up and it would be an easy game, but internationally teams never give up. They are always fighting even if they are down by 40 points.

Are there some positives you can take from this game?
There are definitely some positives from tonight's game, but the loss isn't what we wanted. We are getting better, but we need to be a lot more prepared to play Puerto Rico.

What are some of the things this team can improve?
I think we can do a better job getting through screens on defense. After a missed shot or a made shot, we need to do a better job of getting back on defense. We had a few players leak out behind us today, and that hurt.

Do you think this team will be ready to face Puerto Rico tomorrow?
Right now we are going to think about the loss because you want to go over what you did wrong in the game, but by the end of tonight, it will be out of our minds and Puerto Rico be on our minds.
