Dear USA U21 Diary:
Days 3&4
Ok, we've taken the liberty of lumping
days together. Call it Groundhog Day if you will we have a lot
of those on the road with USA Basketball but there was no sense
in rehashing a two-a-day type of day. Wake up, eat breakfast, get taped,
go to practice, work your butt off, finish, eat lunch, return to the hotel,
shower, nap, wake up, get taped ... you get the picture. More...
Dear USA U21 Diary:
Day 2
Everyone got a little more settled
in after the first practice and by the end of Wednesday night's session
the team's third USA and Duke head coach Joanne P. McCallie
was much more pleased with the improvement she saw over a 24-hour period.

Dear USA U21 Diary: Day 1
The day started out okay with bright sunshine.
But then the weather started getting rough (the tiny ship was tossed ...
but we digress). Springtime in the Rockies, oh how we love thee. Cold,
windy and rainy. The weather outside didn't much matter, though, once
everyone stepped into the gym, got taped and started shooting. They could
not care less what was going on outside. A lot of the players have competed
for USA Basketball in the past and everyone was catching up while shooting
around and waiting for the official start to practice. More

a 1988 and 1992 Olympic gold and bronze medalist, respectively, and 1996,
2000 and 2004 Olympic gold medalist Dawn Staley spoke to the group
about their experiences with USA Basketball, the WNBA, overseas professional
teams and even went back a little to their college years. More...
Killer
Instinct Always
...
It's amazing the things you can find out about a person in five minutes.
For instance, Kia Vaughn, a 6-4 center from Rutgers, is quite proud of
her name. It's not a nickname for anything, it's straight up Kia. And
that stands for Killer Instinct Always. She's also afraid of clowns
anything in a costume, really. So you can imagine how she feels when Halloween
rolls around! More...
