From the Men's U19 Vault of Experience
July 22, 2007 - Novi Sad, Serbia
The 2007 USA Basketball Men's U19 World Championship Team came together for just a few short weeks and claimed the FIBA U19 World Championship silver medal. Not only did the team beat tournament favorite France two times, it also downed gold medalist Serbia in preliminary play. But USA Basketball trips aren't solely about basketball. They're about making lifetime friendships, learning about other cultures and realizing that things at home are pretty darn good! During the team's bus ride on Monday morning from Novi Sad to Belgrade, USA Basketball.com asked all but one of the players a couple of questions (sorry -- Damian Hollis was sound asleep for the 3:00 a.m. ride and we didn't want to wake him up):
1) What is one think you will take back to the U.S. from your time in Serbia with the team?
2) What have you learned from this experience?
We've broken down their answers and we think you'll like what they have to say.
