NABC Foundation Court of Honor Gala Experience To Honor Jerry Colangelo on April 14 in Chicago

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Foundation has named Jerry Colangelo as the recipient of its inaugural Court of Honor Gala Experience Award which will be presented on April 14, 2009, at Union Station Chicago. The Court of Honor Experience is a fundraising effort that supports the NABC Foundation, Inc., and recognizes a prominent figure of business or education with roots in college basketball that has had a positive impact on the game of basketball.

Colangelo is Chairman of the NBA Phoenix Suns, was Managing Director of USA Basketball 2006-2008 Men's Senior National Team and recently was elected Chair of USA Basketball Board of Directors for the 2009-2012 term. Colangelo was instrumental in assembling the 2008 U.S. Men's Basketball Olympic team, which won the gold medal in Beijing, China.

The NABC Foundation also announced that serving as co-Chairs of the Court of Honor Gala Experience were: Michael J. Alter, President of The Alter Group and Owner of the Chicago Sky; George W. Bodenheimer, President, ESPN, Inc., and ABC Sports and Chairman of the ESPN Board of Directors; Mike Krzyzewski, Head Coach, Duke University and 2008 Men's Olympic Team; Andrew J. McKenna, Chairman, McDonald's Corporation and Schwartz Supply Source; Jerry M. Reinsdorf, Owner of the Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bulls; John W. Rogers, Jr., Chairman and CEO, Ariel Investments; Patrick G. Ryan, Chairman and CEO, Chicago 2016; and David J. Stern, Commissioner of the National Basketball Association.
