The activities, which include basketball clinics, special appearances, and access to USA Basketball exhibition games, are being conducted in partnership with the U.S. Department of Defense, Let’s Move, an initiative to solve the problem of childhood obesity in a generation, and Joining Forces, an initiative to support and honor America’s service members and their families. The activities will also be a significant part of the World Basketball Festival, which is being run in partnership with NIKE, Inc. and its leading basketball brands – Converse, Jordan Brand and Nike Basketball – in Washington D.C. July 13 – 16.

Launched in 2006, Hoops for Troops is the global social responsibility program for USA Basketball that works to provide support for the United States military personnel and their families through programs, events and partnerships.

Throughout the 2012 USA Basketball Men's and Women's National Team training camps, USA Basketball has an amazing summer planned for our troops and their families and if you can't get a front-row seat to the festivities, you'll be able to catch a glimpse of everything USA Basketball is doing through Hoops for Troops right here.

On Sat., July 14, a crowd of 3,100 military members and their families will attend a USA Basketball Men’s National Team open practice as part of the World Basketball Festival, held in partnership with NIKE Inc. at the Washington, D.C. Armory.

On Saturday, July 14, USA Basketball, as part of its Hoops for Troops program, will host a men’s team open practice and women’s team basketball and fitness clinic for military personnel and their families at the Washington, D.C. Armory.

On Jiuly 16 the Men’s and Women's National Teams will take on their Brazil counterparts as part of the teams' final exhibition games on U.S. soil which will be attended by more than 1,400 military members and feature a variety of tributes to U.S. military members.

Coach K and the entire USA Basketball family are proud to take part in Hoops for Troops.

We thank our veterans and wish for a safe and speedy return of all our troops currently serving overseas.
