USA BASKETBALL NOTES

• Member of the 2007 USA Men’s Senior National Team and USA FIBA Americas Championship Team that finished 10-0, won gold and qualified the United States men for the 2008 Olympics. The USA Team was a team comprised of members of USA Basketball Senior National Team program.
 

 

• Player in all 10 of the USA’s FIBA Americas Championship games. Averaged 2.1 ppg., 3.6 rpg., 1.4 bpg. (second best on team), 8.6 minutes a game, while shooting 56.3 percent (9-16 FGs) from the field.
 

• Played for the USA Blue Team in the 2007 State Farm USA Basketball Challenge and recorded five points, a game high 13 rebounds and two blocked shots is just under 25 minutes of action.

• Received special mention from The Sporting News in their selection of 2003 Good Guys

• Named the Bulls CDW/HP November 2003 Player of the month, after averaging 13.0 ppg., 10.3 rpg., 1.30 bpg., 1.0 apg. and 28.6 mpg., while shooting 49.4 percent from the field.

• Named Bulls/CDW Player of the month for February 2001 after averaging 8.8 ppg., 6.8 rpg., 1.1 apg. and 1.54 bpg., shooting 53.5 percent from the floor.

• Completed in 2006-07 his fifth NBA season, first with New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets.

• New Orleans/ Oklahoma City finished 2006-07 with a 39-43 regular season record.

• Played and started 73 games and finished 2006-07 NBA regular season averaging career highs of 9.5 ppg., 12.4 rpg., and 1.8 bpg., while shooting a career high of 62.4 percent from the field.

• Finished 2006-07 ranked first in the NBA in offensive rebounds (320) and offensive rebounds per game (4.4); second in rebounds per game (12.4); third in total rebounds (904); fifth in defensive rebounds per game (8.0); seventh in defensive rebounds (584); 13th in blocked shots per game (1.77); 14th in blocked shots (129); 14th in double-doubles (34); 30th in efficiency points (1429); and 39th in efficiency ranking (19.58).

• Had surgery on April 24, 2007, on his left big toe. Missed the final eight games of the 2006-07 season because of the toe injury.

• Recorded career highs of 27 points versus Portland (12/31/02), 23 rebounds against Memphis (2/13/07), and seven blocked shots three times, most recently versus Utah (1/27/07).

• Scored 22 points (9-13 FGs), grabbed 22 rebounds and added three assists, a steal and two blocks in the Hornets 111-105 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers (3/23/07).

Traded on July 14, 2006, by the Chicago Bulls to the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets for P.J. Brown and J.R. Smith.

• Helped lead Chicago in 2005-06 to a 41-41 regular season record and the 2006 Playoffs.

• Played in 79 games, started 50 times, in 2005-06 and finished the NBA regular season averaging 5.3 ppg., 9.0 rpg., 1.3 bpg., 1.0 apg., while shooting 56.5 percent from the field.

mes, in 2004-05 and finished the NBA regular season averaging 8.0 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 1.76 bpg. and 27.4 mpg, while shooting 49.4 from the field and 67.3 at the foul line.

• Led the team in rebounding 53 times, recorded 36 games of 10+ rebounds and four games of 20+ rebounds.

• Scored 15 points and tied his season-high 22 rebounds, including a new career-high 16 defensive boards, in a season-high 42 minutes at Orlando (04/06/05).

• In 2003-04, played in 35 games, started eight times, and finished the NBA regular season averaging 6.1 ppg, 7.7 rpg and 1.23 bpg, while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 66.9 percent from the free throw line. Missed a total of 47 games, including 43 games with a lower back injurY.

• Led the team in rebounding 15 times, grabbed 10+ rebounds on 11 occasions

• Averaged 13.0 ppg., 10.3 rpg. and 1.30 bpg. in his first 10 games
before going on the Injured List.

• Appeared in 75 games, started 68 times, for the Chicago Bulls in 2002-03, and averaged 9.2 ppg., 6.9 rpg. and 1.41 bpg., shooting 53.1 percent from the floor.

• Finished ranked 22nd in the NBA in blocked shots per gameand 35th in rebounds per game.

• Posted 13 double-doubles (second on the Bulls), including three games of at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.

• Grabbed double-digit boards 18 times and hauled in 15+ rebounds on five occasions, reached double figures in scoring 34 times and scored 20+ points four times.

• Appeared in 27 games following the All-Star break, making 24 starts and averaed 11.7 ppg. and 9.7 rpg, shooting 54.2 percent from the floor.

• Averaged 12.6 ppg. and 9.4 rp.g, shooting 54.6 percent in February and averaged 11.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg, shooting 54.7 in March.

• Scored a career-high 27 points to accompany 18 rebounds in 35 minutes versus Portland (12/31/02).

• Appeared in 2000-01 in 71 games, started 31 games, in rookie
campaign and averaged 6.1 ppg., 4.8 rpg. and led the Bulls with 1.31 bpg.

• Finished 2000-01 ranked 24th in the NBA in rejections.

• Ranked 18th among rookies in scoring, sixth among rookies in rebounding and fifth in blocked shots.

• Reached double figures in scoring 16 times and hauled in double-
figure rebounds in seven games. Posted seven double-doubles.

• In 31 starts, averaged 25.7 mpg., 8.4 ppg., 6.5 rpg., 1.0 apg. and 1.45 bpg., shooting 47.8 percent from the floor and 66.2 percent from the free throw line.

• For games in April 2001 averaged 11.3 ppg., 8.6 rpg., 1.2 apg. and 1.56 bpg., shooting 50.8 percent from the floor and 75.0 percent from the free throw line in 30.3 mpg.

• Made the first start in NBA career, scoring five points in 21 minutes versus Detroit (11/7/01).

• Selected out of high scxhool by the Los Angeles Clippers in the first round with the second overall pick of the 2001 Draft.

• Draft rights were traded on June 27, 2001, by the Los Angeles Clippers with Brian Skinner to the Chicago Bulls for Elton Brand.

HIGH SCHOOL NOTES

• Named as a senior at Dominguez High School (Compton, Calif.) Parade Magazine All-American first team and USA Today All-USA second team.

• Named USA Today California State Player of the Year as a senior after leading Dominguez to a 31-4 record, their third straight CIF Division II State Championship and USA Today No. 8 national ranking in its end-of-the-season final rankings.

• Averaged as a senior 26 ppg., 15 rpg. and 8 bpg.

• Averaged 20.1 ppg., 11.3 rpg., 4.7 bpg. as a junior, leading the team to the No. 1 ranking and to the USA Today High School National Championship.

• Played with Kentucky All-American and Detroit Pistons forward Tayshaun Prince at Dominguez.
