Tooley |

JIM TOOLEY,
Executive Director
USA Basketball's 2000-2004 President Tom Jernstedt announced
on Dec. 11, 2000, that Jim Tooley, USA Basketball Assistant Executive Director
for Men's Programs since March 1993, had been selected as USA Basketball's
Executive Director effective Jan. 1, 2001. Tooley succeeded Warren S. Brown,
who served as Executive Director for over eight years in the position.
"USA Basketball's Executive Committee was unanimous
in its selection of Jim Tooley as our next Executive Director," said
Jernstedt. "Jim possesses over seven years of experience within USA
Basketball and the committee believes that his knowledge of the organization
and its constituents was vital for a smooth transition and for the organization's
continued growth. Also, having overseen USA Basketball men's program,
Jim understands that USA Basketball's primary mission is affording its
athletes, no matter the level, the support and resources required to be
successful in any international competition."
Tooley currently serves as Vice President of the FIBA Youth Commission,
while also serving on the Executive Committee and Central Board of FIBA
Americas, and is a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Board
of Trustees.
Joining the USA Basketball staff in March 1993 as Assistant
Executive Director for the Men's Programs, Tooley's responsibilities included
overseeing all facets of the men's program. Tooley was accountable for
men's team trials, training camps, exhibition games, international competitions,
and served as the staff liaison to all men's competition committees.
The men's program under his hand captured gold at the 1996
and 2000 Olympics; 1994 FIBA World Championship; 1998 Goodwill Games,
1993, 1995, 1997, 1999 World University Games; 1993 FIBA 22 and Under
World Championship and 1998 World Youth Games. Also while under Tooley's
guidance, USA Basketball initiated two highly successful grass-roots programs,
the annual International Hoop Summit Game and the annual Men's Youth Development
Festival.
Prior to joining USA Basketball, Tooley worked with the
then Denver-based Continental Basketball Association (CBA). Starting in
November 1987 as a Public Relations Assistant, Tooley was named the CBA's
Director of Operations in August 1988, promoted to Vice President of Operations
just two years later in September 1990, then was named in January 1992
as the CBA's Special Assistant to the Commissioner and Vice President
of Operations.
Tooley earned in 1987 a bachelor's degree in technical journalism
from Colorado State University and as a student worked in the sports information
department at CSU.
BRENT BAUMBERGER
Chief Financial Officer
Brent Baumberger officially began his duties as USA
Basektball's Director of Finance on April 30, 1999 and was promoted to
Assistant Executive Director of Finance in October 2001.
Baumberger is responsible for directing USA Basketball's
financial matters. This includes administering the organizations long
and short term financial planning, supervising internal and external audits,
preparing and monitoring USA Basketball's annual budget, administering
U.S. Olympic Committee funding and related compliance programs and monitoring
regulations related to non-profit status.
Baumberger, a certified public accountant and member of
the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, brought impressive
credentials to USA Basketball. From July 1997 through April 1999, Baumberger
served as a Senior Accountant at Gateway Country Stores in North Sioux
City, South Dakota. His responsibilities included monitoring general ledger
activity and financial reporting for approximately 150 stores, developing
and organizing Gateway's 1999 financial budget totaling over $3 billion
in revenues and performing day to day management activities for Gateway's
accounting department.
Prior to his stint with Gateway, Baumberger spent four years
with Stockman, Kast, Ryan & Scruggs in Colorado Springs, Colo. As
a Senior Accountant for accounting and auditing services, Baumberger was
responsible for planning and managing the financial audits of publicly
traded, privately held and not for profit entities, supervising and training
staff accountants and evaluating and testing systems of internal control.
While working as a senior auditor for Deloitte & Touche, Baumberger
also worked on the financial statement audits of USA Basketball from 1993-1997.
Baumberger graduated from the University of South Dakota
in May, 1993, with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Baumberger and his wife Misti reside in Colorado Springs
with their two children.
JENNIFER BUCZKOWSKI
Programs Coordinator
Jennifer Buczkowski was hired as USA Basketball Programs
Assistant in March 2002.
As an assistant to the Men and Women's Competitive Programs
staff, Buczkowski administers correspondence to athletes and committee
members, registers USA athletes for training and competitions, and manages
the Competitive Programs database. Additionally, Buczkowski assists in
the planning and execution of various competitive events for men and women
such as trials, training camps and the annual Youth Development Festival.
Prior to being hired by USA Basketball, the Indianapolis,
Ind., native spent three years as a workers compensation insurance underwriter
for Risk Management Administrators, an Indianapolis-based company.
A 1997 graduate of Butler University (Ind.) with a bachelors
of science degree in Arts Administration, Buczkowski earned an information
technology certificate from Indiana University-Purdue University in 2002.
Buczkowski resides in Colorado Springs, Colo., with
her husband Matt, who is a math teacher and baseball coach at Fountain-Fort
Carson High School.

CAROL CALLAN
Women's National Team Director
After overseeing all facets of the historic 1995-96
USA Basketball Women's National Team that posted a perfect 52-0 record and
assisting with the 1996 U.S. Olympic Women's Basketball Team that reclaimed
the gold medal with an 8-0 record, Carol Callan assumed duties as Assistant
Executive Director for Women's Programs in October, 1996. As Assistant Executive
Director, Callan is responsible for all USA Basketball women's team programs,
including competitions, trials, training camps, and serves as a liaison
to women's competition committees.
A primary architect for the historic, first-time National
Team program, Callan was responsible for team logistics, travel, and scheduling
of games and training.
Prior to taking the reins of the National Team program,
Callan was involved with USA Basketball for almost seven years as a volunteer
committee member. She served on USA Basketball's Executive Committee as
secretary from 1992 to 1995, and from 1989 to 1995 was a member of the
Women's Player Selection Committee, and served as chair from 1992-1995.
Additionally, Callan was a member of the Women's Programs Committee from
1992 to 1995.
Callan came to USA Basketball after spending 10 years (1986-1995)
as director of athletics /activities and two years as an assistant principal
(1993-1995) for Fairview High School in Boulder, Colo. Earning two master's
degrees from the University of Colorado, Callan holds a master's in business
administration and a master of science in physical education. She earned
a bachelor of arts degree from William Woods College (Mo.) in 1975, graduating
magna cum laude in mathematics and physical education.
Callan and her husband, David, and sons, Greg and Tom, reside
in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

ELLIS DAWSON
Manager, Competitive Programs
University of New Mexico graduate Ellis Dawson started working for USA
Basketball as a manager of competitive programs on
Feb. 22, 2005.
As the manager of competitive programs, Dawson assists in
all facets of the men's and women's competitive programs, including player
personnel and basketball operations during trials, training camps and
competitions. Additionally, he assists with the team outfitting; coordinates
apparel inventory and video equipment; maintaines the USA Basketball video
library; as well as assists in coordinating the USA Basketball Officials
Program.
A member of the NBA Orlando Magic staff since October 1995,
Dawson began as a basketball operations associate, working on video scouting
and two years later was promoted to a scouting assistant before being
elevated in April 2000 to scouting coordinator. During his tenure with
the Magic, Dawson was involved in all facets of scouting, including organizing
and maintaining the scouting database, managing the scouting report updates
for the department's staff, coordinating video taping of NBA, European,
college and high school basketball games, while establishing a video library
of all the games. He also was responsible for various scouting duties
and responsibilities Orlando's annual NBA Draft. Additionally, he served
as a liaison for potential summer free agents and participated in an active
role in securing the signing of athletes like Grant Hill, Juwan Howard,
Tyronn Lue and Tracy McGrady.
Dawson was active in the Magic's community outreach programs,
including Read 2 Achieve, acting as the head coach in the Junior Magic
Basketball League, as well as with other special charity events.
Last summer Dawson worked with USA Basketball as a host
to the Puerto Rican Men's National Team during the training camp and exhibition
game hosted by USA Basketball in Jacksonville, Fla., prior to the Olympics.
A native of Albuquerque, N.M., Dawson is a 1993 graduate
of New Mexico, where he earned a bachelor's degree in recreation and physical
education. He continued his education in Albuquerque and earned a master's
degree in sports administration in 1996. While at UNM Dawson spent seven
years as a student manager, from Oct. 1988 through Oct. 1995, for the
Lobos basketball team. In addition to supervising other managers, his
responsibilities during his stint at New Mexico included team travel,
laundry, transportation and assisting with the summer team and camps.

SEAN FORD,
Men's National Team Director
Sean Ford, who served since April 1999 as USA Basketball's
Assistant Executive Director of Basketball Operations, was named Assistant
Executive Director for Men's Programs in February 2001.
As the head of USA Basketball's men's programs, Ford is
responsible for overseeing all facets of the men's program including coordinating
men's team trials, team training camps, exhibition games, international
competitions and also serving as the staff liaison to all USA Basketball
men's competition committees.
Hired in February 1995 as USA Basketball's Manager of Basketball
Operations, Ford was named Director of Basketball Operations in October
1996 and in April 1999 was promoted to Assistant Executive Director of
Basketball Operations. Ford was responsible for overseeing USA Basketball
men's and women's teams, trials and training camp logistics, including
on-court game operations and transportation, as well as the ordering and
distribution of apparel. Ford also managed USA Basketball's officials
program, scouting library and apparel inventory.
Ford joined USA Basketball after serving as a marketing
assistant in the University of Cincinnati (Ohio) Athletic Department from
August 1993 through January 1995. He also worked as an intern in the Bearcats
marketing and compliance departments from August 1992 to August 1993.
Earning his bachelor's degree in 1990 from Villanova University
(Pa.), where he served as a four-year student administrative assistant
for the Wildcats men's basketball program, Ford interned in the Georgia
Tech Athletic Department sports programs division from August 1990 to
June 1991. Following his stint at Georgia Tech, Ford worked at the University
of Massachusetts as a men's basketball administrative assistant during
the 1991-92 season, while earning his master's in sports management.
Ford also served as a member of USA Basketball support staffs
for the 1994 USA Men's World Championship Team in Charlotte, N.C., 1994
U.S. Olympic Festival in St. Louis, Mo., and the 1993 USA World University
Games men's and women's teams in Buffalo, N.Y.
Ford resides in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Johnson |

B.J. JOHNSON
Manager, Competitive Programs
Former Villanova University (Pa.) basketball player William "B.J."
Johnson began working for USA Basketball as manager of competitive programs
on Feb. 22, 2005.
As the manager of competitive programs, Johnson assists
in all facets of the men's and women's competitive programs, including
player personnel and basketball operations during trials, training camps
and competitions. Additionally, he assists with the team outfitting; coordinates
apparel inventory and video equipment; maintaines the USA Basketball video
library; as well as assists in coordinating the USA Basketball Officials
Program.
A 2002 graduate of Villanova with a bachelor's degree in
computer science and a minor in Chinese, Johnson was a manager for the
women's basketball team during the 1998-99 season. The following year
he became a member of the men's basketball team as a walk-on, earned a
scholarship and was a three-year (2000, 2001, 2002) Wildcat letterman.
Johnson was a three-time selection to the Big East Academic All-Star Team,
earned the 2001 Al Severance Award for academic achievement at the team's
annual banquet and capped his collegiate experience by receiving the 2002
Sister Mary Margaret Cribben Award as Villanova's top male student-athlete.
With Johnson on the roster the Wildcats posted an overall 57-39 record
and competed in the 2000, 2001 and 2002 National Invitational Tournaments,
advancing to the 2002 NIT quarterfinals.
Outside of basketball Johnson was listed in the 2002 Who's
Who Among American Colleges and Universities and served as the president
of the Villanova Minority Engineers and Scientists organization during
the 1999-2000 school year.
Johnson co-founded the Champions Sports Academy in Colorado
Springs in July 2004 and has served as its director since that time. He
established a 15-week program that educates high school athletes in the
fundamental skills of basketball and essentials for personal development
including decision-making, teamwork, attitude and confidence.
As a youth pastor at Solid Rock Christian Church since February
2004, Johnson coordinates activities and transportation for social and
community service events for high school-age parishioners.
The Greensboro, N.C., native has worked at Lockheed Martin
as a software engineer since March 2003 and resides in Colorado Springs.

Maag |

JENNY MAAG
Manager, Communications
After working as a communications intern from April to September 2006, Jenny Maag was hired full time as the communications manager in October 2006.
Maag assists with the general administration of the communications department for USA Basketball while serving as a liaison between USA Basketball staff, coaches, players and the media. Her responsibilities include the production of press releases and publications, maintenance of usabasketball.com and staffing of USA Basketball trials, team training and competitions.
In 2008 Maag not only served as the primary media contact for the USA Women's U18 National Team that earned the gold medal in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she was also a member of USA Basketball's communications staff in Beijing, helping promote both the men's and women's U.S. Olympic Teams.
As a USA Basketball communications intern, Maag traveled with and served as the primary media contact for the USA Women's U20 National Team that captured gold at the 2006 FIBA Americas U20 Championship for Women Aug. 8-12 in Mexico City, Mexico.
Prior to arriving at USA Basketball, Maag worked as an intern for the Seattle Sonics & Storm public relations department during the 2004 and 2005 Seattle Storm seasons and the Sonics' 2004-05 playoff run.
Additionally, she served as a management information systems runner for ESPN at the 2005 Winter X Games in Aspen, Colo.
While attending Western Washington University, Maag worked for The Western Front as a reporter, copy and sports editor and community liaison. In addition, she produced and hosted a sports talk show and worked as a sports commentator and reporter for Western's television broadcast club, KVIK.
The Seattle native earned her bachelor's degree in journalism from Western Washington University in 2004 and now resides in Colorado Springs, Colo.

CRAIG MILLER
Chief Media/Communications Officer
Joining USA Basketball in April 1990 as the organization's first assistant executive director for media/public relations, Craig Miller serves as USA Basketball's spokesperson and primary media contact, while overseeing all facets of USA Basketball's communications operations.
Included among his responsibilities is coordinating all press conferences, overseeing all press releases, the production of USA Basketball's World Wide Web site, production of team media guides and the USA Basketball News magazine. Miller also serves as a liaison between all USA Basketball staff, coaches, players and the media.
Miller currently is a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame Gowdy Media Awards Committee and a past member of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Media Council. He was honored in March 1997 by the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) and named as a recipient of the Katha Quinn Award, an annual award which recognizes outstanding service and contributions to basketball and the USBWA.
While at USA Basketball, he headed the media/public relations responsibilities for the historic 2006-2008 USA Basketball Men's Senior National Team program. Miller has also served as the primary press officer for the 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 U.S. Olympic men's basketball teams that claimed four gold and one bronze medal, while serving as the primary press officer with the 1992 US. Olympic women's basketball team and assisting with the 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 women's Olympic teams. Additionally, Miller headed the media/public relations efforts for the 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2006 USA World Championship men's teams, the 1991, 1995, 1999 and 2007 USA men's and women's Pan American Games teams and numerous other men's and women's junior national and select teams.
Prior to joining USA Basketball, Miller spent 10 years at Villanova University (Pa.) where he oversaw all media/public relations facets for Villanova's athletics teams as the assistant to the athletic director for athletic communications (1988-90) and sports information director (1981-88), including Villanova's 1985 NCAA national championship men's basketball team. Miller was the recipient of 25 CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) publication awards between 1981-90, including 12 best in the nation top five awards.
While employed at Villanova, Miller was selected by the U.S. Olympic Committee to serve as the track and field press officer for the 1988 Summer Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, a USOC press officer at the 1986 and 1987 U.S. Olympic Festivals, and was selected press officer for 1988 USA Winter Paralympic Team that competed in Austria.
Miller earned his bachelor of arts degree in English from Albion College (Mich.) in 1977 and was three year starter in football and started four years in lacrosse. While attending Albion, he served as student sports information director and was sports editor of the college weekly newspaper and the yearbook. Miller studied toward a master's degree in public relations at Ball State University (Ind.), while serving at Earlham College (Ind.) for one year as sports information director, as an assistant football coach and assistant women's lacrosse coach.
Miller and his wife, Liz, reside in Colorado Springs with their three children, Mitchell, Libby and Anna.
HEATHER MOSHER AWTREY
Assistant Director, Finance and Administration
Named Assistant Director, Finance and Administration in Dec. 2004, Heather
Mosher Awtrey has worked for USA Basketball since June, 1994.
In her current position, she assists Assistant Executive
Director, Finance Brent Baumberger, and is responsible for managing employee
records, and aiding staff members in the coordination of various events.
Additionally, she serves as the organization's liaison on the USA Basketball
Committee for the Disabled.
Previoulsy, from 2001 to 2004 she was the Special Assistant
to the Executive Director and assisted USA Basketball Executive Director
Jim Tooley in numerous aspects of the organization, including coordinating
meetings of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
Hired in 1994, as the secretary for the USA Basketball Men's
Programs department, in 1998 Mosher was promoted to Manager of Men's Programs.
During her six and a half years working specifically with the USA Basketball
Men's Programs, Mosher aided in the organizational aspects of all men's
trials, training camps and competitions. Working with the gold medal winning
1994 USA Men's World Championship, 1996 U.S. Men's Olympic and 2000 U.S.
Men''s Olympic teams, as well as the bronze medal winning 1998 USA Men's
World Championship Team, Mosher assisted in coordinating the USA Basketball
on-site office staff; helped with the USA Basketball guest program; assisted
with the travel of guests and USA Basketball officials and served as the
liaison with the various hotel staffs
Prior to joining the USA Basketball staff, Mosher worked
from 1992-94 as the office manager and student records coordinator at
Emery Aviation College in Colorado Springs, Colo.; and from 1990-92 she
taught at the Colorado State University Child Development Center in Ft.
Collins. Mosher also worked at the CSU Office of Conference Services from
1988-91 in its conference registration department.
The Eads, Colo., native earned her bachelors of science
degree with an emphasis in child psychology from Colorado State in 1991.
She currently resides in Colorado Springs.
ANNA ROBINSON
Receptionist
Anna Robinson has been directing callers to the appropriate departments at USA Basketball as its receptionist since January 2008.
As part of her many duties, Robinson is instrumental in helping USA Basketball process international Letters of Clearance applications. Robinson assists agents, player representatives and athletes, in obtaining clearance for U.S.-based athletes to play overseas. Additionally, she helps secure clearances from foreign basketball federations for athletes coming to the United States to compete for one of USA Basketball's member organizations like the CBA and the Harlem Globetrotters. Robinson also coordinates the sanctioning of foreign and domestic basketball tours between teams from the United States and foreign federations as well as assisting in the processing of all renewal applications for USA Basketball's Officials program.
Robinson, who is majoring in Political Science with a minor in Business Management at Metro State College of Denver, is a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, Colo.

CAROLINE WILLIAMS
Director, Communications
After working in the USA Basketball media/public
relations department as an intern from March 1995 to September 1995, and
then completing a one-year position as Assistant Director, Media/Public
Relations from September 1995 to September 1996, Caroline Williams was hired
full time in October 1996 by USA Basketball as an Assistant Director for
Media/Public Relations and promoted to Director of Communications on Oct.
20, 2003.
As the Director of Communications, Williams coordinates
USA Basketball's World Wide Web Internet site (http://www.usabasketball.com),
assists in the general administration of the media/public relations program
for USA Basketball, including the production of USA Basketball press releases
and publications, staffing of USA Basketball trials, team training and
competitions, while serving as a liaison between USA Basketball staff,
coaches, players and the media.
Additionally, Williams has served as the primary media contact
for the USA Basketball Women's National Team since 1998, including the
2000, 2004 and 2008 U.S. Women's Olympic Teams in their successful run to gold in Sydney, Athens and Beijing, respectively, as well as the 1998, 2002 and 2006 USA Women's World Championship Teams. While working with the USA Basketball Women's National Teams, Williams coordinated weekly newsletters, game releases, updated the USA Basketball web site,
and aided in the promotion of the team through national and local media.
Williams has also headed up the promotion efforts for numerous men's and women's junior national teams, and assisted in USA Basketball's communications efforts for the last four men's Olympic teams, the 1996 U.S. Women's Olympic Team, and other USA Basketball Men's Senior National Teams.
Prior to arriving at USA Basketball, Williams served as
an intern in the George Mason University (Va.) sports information department,
working with the 1993-94 and 1994-95 men's and women's basketball teams.
During her two-year stint at George Mason, Williams aided in all aspects
of the sports information office including producing basketball media
guides and home game programs, writing press releases and game stories,
as well as compiling statistics.
In March 1994, she served as the assistant media coordinator
for the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament Eastern Region First
and Second Rounds that George Mason played host to in Landover, Md.
Williams earned her bachelor's degree in speech communications
in 1994 from George Mason University. She and her husband, Dave Bennett,
reside in Colorado Springs, Colo. |
