Averaged 4.4 ppg., 1.8 rpg., and 1.4 apg. in 11.2 mpg. to help the USA to a 5-0 record and gold medal in the 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship June 17-21 in Mendoza, Argentina.

Attends Detroit Southeastern, where he helped lead his team as a junior in 2010 to a berth in the Michigan Class A regional semifinals.
As a sophomore, helped his team to a 21-4 record as it advanced to the 2009 Detroit Public League City championship game; averaged 12.5 ppg., 6.0 rpg. and 6.0 apg.
In the 2009 Michigan Class A playoffs, Southeastern captured the district title to advance to the regionals.
As a freshman in 2007-08, averaged 10.0 ppg., 3.4 rpg. and 3.5 apg. as Southeastern went 14-9.
Compiled 625 points, 300 rebounds, 200 assists, 49 steals and 27 blocked shots during his two-year prep career.
Recorded single-game career highs of 24 points versus Dearborn Robichard, 19 points versus Detroit Henry Ford and 10 assists versus Detroit Osborn.
Plays in the summer for Team Detroit AAU.
Competed for the Michigan Mustangs in 2007-08 and captured the state title.

Son of Lea Hall-Kearney and Derrick Kearney, has one brother, Justin Kearney (13), and one sister, Tiana Hall (25).

Hails from an athletic family. Father played basketball at Louisiana Tech with eventual two-time Olympic gold medalist Karl Malone; cousin of Stan Edwards, a former running back with the Houston Oilers and Detroit Lions; cousin of Braylon Edwards, a NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver with the New York Jets.
Has post-basketball ambitions of going into sports or business management.
