USA Basketball Notes

  • A member of the 2007 USA Basketball Men's Youth Development Festival Blue Team, which captured a 2-3 record and silver medal.
  • Started in all five games played and averaged 18.2 ppg., 6.4 rpg., 8.0 apg., 2.0 spg. and 1.2 bpg.
  • Among all-time Festival records, ranks second for most assists (40) and second in single-game assists (12 vs. Blue).
  • Among 2007 Festival participants, ranked first in assists averaged, second in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.0), third in free throw percentage (.722), tied for fifth in blocked shots averaged, tied for sixth in steals averaged, tied for eighth in scoring average and 11th in rebounding average.

Honors

  • Named the 2008 Gatorade National Player of the Year.
  • Selected as a 2008 McDonald's All-American, recorded 14 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists for the West Team, which lost to the East 107-102 on March 26 in Milwaukee, Wis.
  • Invited to play in the 2008 Jordan Brand Classic on April 19 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
  • Selected to the Parade Magazine All-America first team.
  • Named to the 2008 Long Beach Press-Telegram's Best in the West first team.

  • Selected as the 2007 Gatorade California Player of the Year.

High School Notes

  • Attends Campbell Hall High School (Calif.).
  • As a senior in 2007-08 averaged 25.9 ppg., 11.2 rpg., 6.9 apg. and 4.8 spg. to help his team to a 31-5 record and the California Division IV state title.
  • In 2006-07, helped his team to a 33-1 mark, the 2007 state title and a No. 2 overall finish among all divisions; averaged 23.1 ppg., 9.4 rpg., 6.4 apg., 4.2 spg. and 1.5 bpg. Campbell Hall finished 2006-07 ranked No. 15 nationally and No. 4 in the West Region by USA Today.
  • As a sophomore in 2005-06, averaged 21.0 ppg, 9.1 rpg., 5.8 apg., 2.5 spg. and 1.4 bpg. as Campbell went 27-6 and finished among the top 10 in the state.
  • Aided Campbell as a freshman in 2004-05 to a perfect 32-0 record and a state title.
  • Competed for the AAU's RC Bulls, West Coast All-Stars, Belmont Shore and Pump & Run.
