- Majored in communication science at Connecticut and aspires to a career in broadcasting, host a TV talk show, continue the work with her charity and eventually get married and have children.
- In high school was president of her student council and finished third in the state as a senior in hurdles.
- Attended McKeesport High School, where she was a 1998 Parade Magazine, USA Today and Street & Smith's All-America first team selection and garnered 1998 Gatorade Pennsylvania Player of the Year accolades.
